Cotton with a bit of Wool

Back in the days when Flying Fingers was a company where Elise's fingers were doing all the flying and she was selling her sweaters at places like Crafts Park Avenue in New York City, one of her most popular items was toddler jackets. These many-colored beauties she made in beautiful colors that the kids loved and made their parents pine for adult fashions more tolerant of bright and playful colorwork.

Elise made most of these jackets from Brown Sheep's Cotton Fleece. The 20% wool kept the kids warm, which made their parents happy, but there was no hint of wooly itch which made the sensitive toddlers happy.

In fact, it looks and feels totally like cotton, even though it's only 80%. But the 20% wool not only makes it warmer (even when it's wet), but gives it the body and drape we love so much in wool. And it works up like wool, too, without the typical fussiness of cotton which will show every little mistake and uneven stitch. It's made by the masters of single-ply wools and comes in a wonderful range of rich colors, as you would expect from them.
