Elise fell in love with Brown Sheep when she fell in love with Boston.

As a child knitter and even as a teenager growing up and knitting in the upper Hudson Valley of New York (many, many years ago), Elise knew only the everyday department store yarns of the day. These were predominately acrylics, typically stiff or sticky with garish colors that failed to nourish young Elise's already keen color sense.

Imagine her delight exploring the "big city" of Boston as a new college student. Elise was enticed by the new wonders of Harvard Square. Unlike the rest of the college students, who were drawn by the blues clubs, the jazz clubs, the book stores, and party scene, Elise, of course, was drawn to the yarn store.

It was there she fell in love with the pleasure of wool. And so began her affair with the Brown Sheep Company!
